Does Organic Pest Control Really Work?

Nor surprisingly, one of the first questions most people ask about environmentally-friendly pest control is whether it is effective.

The answer is that for many pests, effective, natural methods of pest control do exist, but they may require more time or effort than older methods that use harsh chemical pesticides. (Some of the newer natural products, however, are so effective that even traditional pest control operators are beginning to use them.)

On this site, we endeavor to provide balanced information about the most effective natural pest control products of which we are aware. We don't promise that everyone who uses these methods will be satisfied, nor do we deny that there are some pest control problems for which no natural solutions exist as of yet. When that's the case, we won't waste your time talking about approaches and products that have little chance of being effective. We'd rather concentrate on natural solutions that actually work if carried out properly.

It's also important to understand that not everything in nature is necessarily safe. Some of the most toxic chemicals known to humankind are naturally-occurring. So whether using a conventional pesticide or a natural alternative, treat all pest control products with respect, and be sure to carefully follow all of the label instructions.
